    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

    As SVP of TPM you will work with the heads of product lines, the CEO and senior stakeholders to determine the direction and the next thing the organization should be working on.

    You will be writing high-level specifications for functionality, setting the high-level technical vision, and guiding the process to excellence.

    You will be exposed to different types of enterprise software with very different architectures, working on all the products in the ESW Capital portfolio.

    As companies are acquired, you will be driving all improvements in products going forward. The size of the company and the number of products is what makes this opportunity exciting and something you won’t find anywhere else.

    You will guide architecture and architectural decisions. You are not spending all your time managing software architecture managers.

    You will build software products people want to use not products they have to use. You will need to use a different way of working that requires you to be deliberate in your communication and planning.

    You will need to be conceptual, determining the big picture pattern of what the product will be doing, where is it heading and what changes should be implemented.

    Your measurement of success will be:

    • Do the new features drive adoption and satisfaction, and revenue?

    • Are they differentiated features that are of interest?

    • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      Create simple and clear architecture specs

      Hire, manage and coach Vice Presidents of Technical Product Management

      Create, standardize and drive an ideation process producing market-defining, technology-fueled, differentiated products delivering measurable customer value

      Ability to build “expert level” knowledge in a technical domain area Set and maintain the quality bar for product specifications favoring simplicity and clarity and removing distractions, over-architecture, and bad design decisions

      Synthesize inputs, communicate strategic direction, and validate assumptions with internal and external stakeholders

      Establish feasibility with Engineering teams early in the process to avoid delays and last minute scope change

    • CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

      Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science is absolutely mandatory, (M.Sc. or PhD preferred)

      15+ years of hands-on production code development and architecture design in Java or C# on a commercial SaaS product or end-user software supporting a service offering

      5+ years of recent hands-on experience defining and owning the tactical and strategic technical definition and design of software products for an engineering team to code and test

      Extensive experience communicating requirements in writing and using diagrams (such as architecture diagrams, data flows, and system component diagrams)

      New product introduction experience with startups or new/1.0 products within larger companies

      Experience with the software development tools/platform space is a nice-to-have along with product management of products used by Fortune 500 sized companies

    As a seasoned executive with experience in a global leadership role, you will report to the Chief Operating Officer, and will also serve as a key member of the global executive team.

    We are an organization where acquisitions of software companies is one of our primary goals. You will play a major role in the acquisition of some of these organizations and will be expected to lead transformation of any acquired company within a very short time frame. Our plan for 2018 is the acquisition of 50 companies.

    You will be expected to run a world-class 1,000+ person Software Engineering organization using revolutionary and radically differentiated processes. In parallel you will run operations across a variety of disciplines including Software Engineering, SaaSOps, IT Ops, Support and Finance. You will be expected to hire, coach and manage 5-15 VPs of Software Engineering managing global groups in our factory-like processes with quantifiable business results.

    You will be expected to be an expert at aggressive goal setting and derive weekly productivity improvements to drive significant levels of value and productivity at much higher levels than in most companies. You must continuously improve the quality of your teams using our global talent sourcing. You will leverage your technical depth as a former developer and architect to set a personal standard for excellence.

    You are expected to be proficient at doing deep-dives into problem-solving with your teams and able to leverage past technical expertise in Software Development, Quality Assurance, Cloud Infrastructure, and automated deployments using CI/CD tools.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Be a key contributor in our acquisition process and transform acquired companies within 3 months

    Attain continuous process improvements across multiple operations disciplines including Software Engineering, SaaSOps, IT Ops, Support and Finance

    Hire, coach and manage 5-15 VP-level executives owning a wide variety of critical business functions, but primarily focus on Software Engineering

    CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science is mandatory (MS or PhD preferred)

    15+ years engineering experience in a leadership role managing multiple teams across multiple products and technologies. This is a global leadership role for a seasoned executive, not a first executive role for a great software development manager

    Proven track record running a 250+ person Software Engineering and Operations organization

    Be proficient at doing deep-dives into problem-solving with your teams and able to leverage past technical expertise in Software Development, Quality Assurance, Cloud Infrastructure, and automated deployments using CI/CD tools

    • CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (MS or Ph.D. preferred) is absolutely mandatory
    • Been at least 5 years in a Senior technology management position such as CTO, Head of Development, VP of Engineering
    • Spent at least 8 years in hands-on C++, Java or .NET architecture and programming in a hands-on, development-intensive individual contributor role
    • You should have managed teams of more than 50 contributors and have hired and led at least 5 other managers for a minimum of 5 years
    • 15+ years of engineering experience leading multiple teams across multiple products and technologies — this is a global leadership role for a seasoned software development leader, not a first executive role for a great software development manager

    • Proven experience in building high-performance teams and scalable best engineering practices
