Reports to: General Manager / Food & Beverage Manager
Job Purpose:
The Event & Banquet Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all hotel events, conferences, banquets, and private functions. This role ensures seamless delivery of high-quality service by managing event logistics, supervising banquet staff, and working closely with clients and departments to exceed guest expectations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Manage the end-to-end planning and execution of events and banquets, from inquiry to post-event follow-up.
• Meet with clients to understand event objectives, menu preferences, setup requirements, and timelines.
• Coordinate with culinary, service, housekeeping, and technical teams to ensure smooth event delivery.
• Supervise banquet staff and assign roles to ensure effective service.
• Oversee setup, service, and breakdown of all banquet and event spaces.
• Ensure all equipment and décor meet event standards and client expectations.
• Monitor event budget and work to optimize profitability while maintaining service quality.
• Handle on-site event issues or guest concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain event documentation, contracts, and post-event evaluations.
• Promote hotel event services and support the sales team with site visits and proposals.
• Report to work on time, professionally dressed, and ready 10 minutes before shift.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and guest service.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
• Be proactive, flexible, and solutions-oriented in managing events.
• Attend scheduled meetings, briefings, and site inspections.
• Work collaboratively with all departments involved in event execution.
• Comply with all hotel policies and safety regulations.
Technology Competence:
• Proficiency in event management software and banquet scheduling systems.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory control tools.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of English language is required
Safety, Health & Security:
• Ensure all events comply with safety, health, and fire regulations.
• Train banquet staff on safety procedures, hygiene standards, and emergency protocols.
• Monitor crowd control and capacity limits for safety compliance.
